Comaneci has also been engaged in a range of causes, and has been one of both the Special Olympics International Muscular Dystrophy Association Board of Directors and Laureus Sports For Good Foundation. Decades later, Comaneci remains a patron of numerous other charities in her native Romania. This includes those of the Nadia Comaneci Children's Hospital.
